1080×1920 Aspect Ratio (9:16) Guide 2026
Instagram Story, Reels and YouTube Shorts Size
1080×1920 means 1080px wide by 1920px tall — a 9:16 vertical ratio. Instagram Stories and Reels, YouTube Shorts and TikTok all use it as the standard. This guide adds portrait pixel sizes and the safe zone that keeps text from being cut off.

1. What 1080x1920 means
1080 ÷ 1920 = 0.5625, or 9:16. It matches a phone held upright, which is why Stories, Reels and Shorts standardized on it. 1080×1920 is simply Full HD (1920×1080) turned on its side.

3. Safe zone
Profile info, buttons and captions overlap the top and bottom of Stories and Reels. Leave about 250px at the top and 340px at the bottom free of text and logos, and keep roughly 60px of margin on the sides.
Tip: A Reels cover also appears as 4:5 (1080×1350) in the profile grid, so keep key elements near the center.

5. Make 1080×1920 with ImgFixIt
- Upload your image
- In Crop, set the ratio to 9:16 and keep the part you need
- In Resize, enter 1080 as the width (height becomes 1920 automatically)
- Save as JPG and upload to Stories or Reels
