Frequently Asked Questions

Is my cropped photo stored on a server?

No. Both the original and the result are handled entirely in browser memory and are never sent to a server. Close the page and the image is gone from memory.

Are passport and national ID photos the same size?

Yes, passport, national ID, and driver's license photos commonly share the 3.5×4.5cm size. Detailed rules like background color or how recent the photo must be can still vary, so check the latest guidance from the issuing office.

Can I change the background color?

This tool only crops to the correct size — it does not change the background color. If you need a specific background, it's best to start from a photo shot in front of that color to begin with.

Will the print look blurry?

Each size is exported at a 300dpi print-ready pixel size. If your original photo has low resolution, though, scaling it up can reduce quality — use as high-resolution a source photo as you can.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Drag a corner with your finger to resize, and drag inside the box to reposition it. Both Chrome and Safari on mobile are supported.
