Optimal Width for Posts, Thumbnails and Profile
The most common question about Naver Blog images is "how many pixels wide should I upload?" Short answer: resize post images to 1080px wide as JPG. It stays sharp on desktop and mobile without being heavy. This guide covers recommended sizes for post images, thumbnails, title images and profile photos, and why.

Note: Naver's editor and skins change over time, so the exact display width depends on your blog settings. The values below are safe, practical recommendations.
1. Short answer: 1080px wide
Use 1080px wide, height kept proportional, saved as JPG at about 80% quality. Uploading a raw phone photo (4000px+) only adds file size, since it is displayed smaller anyway.

3. Why 1080px
- Larger than the display width — the post column is roughly 700–1000px on desktop, so 1080px stays sharp on high-DPI screens.
- Enough for mobile — covers 2–3x pixel density on phone screens (about 360–430 CSS px wide).
- Saves size — shrinking a 4000px photo to 1080px usually cuts the file to a tenth or less.
- Reusable on Instagram — the same 1080px image works there too.
4. When thumbnails get cropped
Thumbnails in post lists and search results are cropped to a square (1:1). A wide photo loses its left and right sides, so keep the subject (text, faces) in the center 80% or crop to 1080×1080 before uploading.

5. Reducing file size
If a photo is over 3MB, compress it to JPG quality 75–85%. The difference is barely visible and the file is often half the size or less. Text-heavy screenshots stay sharper as PNG, so pick by content.
